SAVE THE DATE! Putts & Pints

Save the date for our our wildly popular after-hours 21+ mini-golf event! Putts & Pints: Mini Golf at the Library is a fundraiser benefiting the programs of the Oak Bluffs Library.

Tickets will be available for sale at the door as well as in advance at the Circulation Desk and via Venmo.

Community Climate Discussion
Saturday, January 6th | 1:30 - 3:00pm

Join us to hear from Nina Hitchen on how to ditch plastics and go zero-waste.

Nina's journey to “life without plastic” began when she was pregnant with her now 12 year old twins. Concerned about the health effects on her growing family, Nina decided to rid her kitchen of plastic, then was inspired to try to quit plastic altogether. Come learn how to shop plastic-free on MV, and take another step on your own plastic-free journey!

Putts & Pints Mini Golf Fundraiser
Friday, January 19th | 6:00 - 9:00pm

Free Mini Golf Family Day
Saturday, January 20th | 10:00am - 12:00pm

Come one, come all to our wildly popular after-hours 21+ mini-golf event. Putts & Pints: Mini Golf at the Library is a fundraiser benefiting the programs of the Oak Bluffs Library. Play 18 holes throughout the library! $18 admission per person (or 2 for $30) will get you a round of golf and a free drink. Beer and wine will be available for purchase and food will be on site! All proceeds benefit the Oak Bluffs Library programs. Teens Only mini-golf will be from 4:00-5:30, and Free Family mini-golfing is Saturday, January 20 from 10:00-12:00.

You can purchase tickets for Putts & Pints: Mini Golf at the Library in person at the Oak Bluffs Library or online using the app Venmo. For Venmo, send your payment to @libraryfriendsob Tickets are $18/1 or $30/2. Please make sure that in the memo of the transaction you write your full name and the number of tickets being purchased. Your reservation will then be added to our Mini Golf registration list!

Free teen tee time is Friday from 4:00 - 5:30pm, and free family day is Saturday, January 20 from 10am to 12pm.

Recurring Programs

Adaptive Yoga
Tuesdays | 10:15-11:15am

Adaptive Yoga is a style of yoga that considers all bodies and abilities. This class aims to improve patron's flexibility, concentration and strength while remaining accessible to all. Lorrane has been a yoga teacher for many years on island, teaching classes at Yoga on the Vine, private lessons, and her popular summertime morning flow at Bend in the Road. Join us on Tuesday mornings in-person or on zoom.

Tap Class with Hannah
Wednesdays | 8:15 - 9:00am

Join Hannah for a tap dance class to discover your inner tap dancer! Class will include a warm-up, instruction to basic tap steps and vocabulary. We will end each class with some fun, light choreography that will keep you tapping until the next class.

No experience is necessary, and a limited number of tap shoes will be provided (size dependent). Although this class is geared towards adults, tap is fun for all ages, and a great way to get in touch with rhythm and musicality.

Cooking Class with Chef Brent Turner
Tuesdays | 4:30-5:30pm

The Home Made Series with Chef Brent Turner focuses on food that you can make instead of buy. This allows folks to save money, cut down on waste, learn new skills and know exactly what is in their food. A different project every week: granola, ricotta, mayo, nut butter, pie crusts and more!

Salsa Suelta with Christina Montoya
Thursdays | 5:30-6:30pm

Known as Casino dancing in Cuba, this class will explore rhythms and movements of this style, as well as touch on history and culture. No partner necessary. Class size is limited to 15 attendees and registration is encouraged. Please park in the back lot of the library, and enter directly into the meeting room as this program ends after the library closes.

American Sign Language Practice Group
Wednesdays | 5:00pm

Looking to learn American Sign Language? Come drop in to our conversational practice group. Please enter the library through the rear Meeting Room entrance of the library as this program is after hours.

1st and 3rd Fridays | 6:00pm

Come play Magic: the Gathering at the Oak Bluffs Public Library! Players of all skill levels are welcome. On the first and third Fridays of the month. Please enter the library through the rear Meeting Room entrance of the library as this program is after hours.
