I heard all kinds of reviews on this spot and decided to check them out for myself. We arrived at 7:00 am as they opened. To our surprise people were already waiting and had the same idea as we did, to get there early before the rush. We were greeted at the door by the owner's son and sat immediately. This place is just as great as they say it is. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The space is on the smaller side, but has a warm and inviting atmosphere. Your coffee cup will never be empty and your water glass will always be filled. The food was AMAZING. We ordered the City of Champions and the Hash Bomb as well as the Banana Bread French Toast and a side of pancakes. Words do this place no justice. The wait was not long, the food was hot and fresh. They prepare the food right in front of you. The home fried potatoes were seasoned to perfection. The bacon was nice and crisp. The ham portion was a little on the skimpy side, but by the time we finished our food, it was a perfect portion. The corned beef hash was out of this world and the gravy that was on top brought all the flavors together. Even the eggs, which we had scrambled with cheese, were well seasoned and still hot when we were served. The Banana Bread French toast was served nice and warm. It was everything you could imagine, with a generous portion of caramel syrup drizzled on top with a sprinkle of confectionery sugar and the pancakes are fluffy and moist. The Phantom Gourmet has recommended this place several times and I would concur. It is tucked in the corner and not a place you would ever expect, but don't let the location fool you. One thing is true, parking is a little bit of a hassle. This place is busy by 7:30 am and you will definitely have to stand in line, especially on a Saturday. But it is WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!! They do not accept reservations nor do they offer take-out. So you will have to come in and get the full experience. The prices were not outrageous, it will not break your bank.
The food at JJ's is fantastic. The hash bombs and the creme brûlée french toast are both amazing. Coffee was excellent too. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very nice inside. I can't wait to go back again. So good.
Great place, very clean. The owner works there and manages the place. We just had breakfast and it was really good. The kitchen is visible, so you can see how they operate. I posted pics of the menu so you can see what they serve, and also a little story about the experience that the owner acquired before opening the place. They have been open for five years, come on in and take a look
If you went to JJ's more than a couple of years ago, it's time to rediscover it. It is completely redone on the inside and is beautiful. The place was hopping on a Saturday morning, but service was very friendly and lightning fast. Food was awesome. My eggs were the best "over medium" I've ever received at a restaurant. I had the Champion breakfast. It was great. My friend had the Dutchess. I tried it and I will order that the next time. It's a little pricey, but its lobster AND crab! I never said a word and my coffee never got cold and I never saw the bottom of my cup. Great place!
Im visiting family in Rhode Island, we are from NYC and they want to take us out for breakfast with a good 45 min drive which I thought was a bit much. we just left and I have to say I just had the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my entire life. I would make the trip anytime! Food is out of this world. JJ should open one in NY! Delicious!!!! Thank you for service us!
