Frank Newhall Look Memorial Park

300 North Main Street

Look Park, consisting of over one hundred & fifty acres, is a gift to the City of Northampton from Mrs. Fannie Burr Look. She provided the land, funds for its development and a trust fund for its upkeep. Additionally, operation and maintenance funds are dependent upon visitor fees, grants, and gifts. No funds are received from tax sources. The Park is a city-owned park and is administered as a non-profit organization by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. The Mayor of Northampton is a member ex-officio.

This living memorial to Frank Newhall Look was first opened to the public in 1930. Mr. Look was the chief executive of the Prophylactic Brush Company, Florence, from 1877 to 1911.

The park is great. The amenities need work. Bathrooms are disgusting. We paid $20 for our family of 4 to golf and the course is torn up and some of the holes are almost impossible to get the ball into because they are raised from the ground! So frustrating! Then the splash pad, the splash pad is okay but extremely slippery. The blue paint or material that was previously there was not removed all the way and my daughter got a nasty gash from her fall, while walking!!! We had to leave immediately. I would hate to see what would happen to a young child running!

Great place, lots of things to do, unfortunately some parents take advantage of the serene location and forget they have children with them. You need to stay close to the little ones because the older kids aren't being watched by their parents, and I have come across a few that were extremely inappropriate, and confrontational. Enough to ruin a nice day.

I love this place. It has everything. Parking was nine dollars but it's free to get in if you go without a car. You do have to pay for certain activity but well worth it... The petting zoo was free.. a very family friendly place.. I will continually visit.
