The mission of the Framingham Public Library is to develop, maintain, and promote collections of materials and related services to meet the practical information needs of the diverse community it serves; to provide resources to meet the needs of students in formal education programs, preschool through high school, as well as those in adult education programs; to serve as a literacy promotion center for children and adults, including those for whom English is a second language; to provide and publicize a collection of popular materials in varied media to enrich the lives of community members of all ages and backgrounds; and to serve as a community activities center by making available gallery, exhibit, and meeting room space to individuals and nonprofit groups in the Framingham area
