Yarmouth Town Libraries Newsletter - January 2023

From: Yarmouth Town Libraries
January 2, 2023

From the Director:

Happy winter solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, and New Year 2023! It has been quite a week, a month, a year. We thank everyone who has dropped off goodies for staff in appreciation over the past few weeks as the year came to a close. Everyone here has certainly had their choice of sweet decadence for the season. We are wrapping up the year and looking forward to greatness in the months and years ahead. My thanks to our hard-working, friendly, and cooperative library staff and wishes for peace, happiness, and success in the future.

ALA Youth Media Awards

Each year the American Library Association (ALA) honors books, videos, and other outstanding materials for children and teens. Recognized worldwide for the high quality they represent, the ALA Youth Media Awards (YMA), include the prestigious Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, and Coretta Scott King Book Awards and guide parents, educators, librarians, and others in selecting the best materials for youth. The awards encourage original and creative work in children’s and young adult literature and media.

Watch the 2023 Youth Media Award announcements on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., during LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience, through the livestream posted to the ALA Youtube page, https://www.youtube.com/@americanlibraryassociation
