New Library Catalog Debuted Feb. 27

You may have noticed the library catalog looks a little different! All CLAMS libraries have upgraded to this user-friendly catalog designed to make it easier than ever to find and borrow materials from the library! If you haven't updated your password already, please note that all users will be prompted to sign in using your library card number and the last four digits of your phone number. You can then change your password back to your previous one if you choose to. For more information about our new Aspen Discovery Catalog, visit our website. If you have any questions or need assistance, do not hesitate to ask us. And read on for a hands-on workshop on using Aspen Discovery on March 10!

Book Sale Volunteer Welcome Session
Saturday, March 11
2:00 PM

Join us for a Book Sale Volunteer Welcome Session on Saturday, March 11, at 2:00pm. This will be a chance for volunteers, both new and returning, to learn more about volunteer opportunities in the book sale as well as a time to meet your fellow library volunteers! The WHPL Book Sale is a gem of a used book store in the library basement – open year round and always changing with the ebb and flow of new, fascinating donations. Volunteers are always needed to help sort and organize the collection. If you’ve always wanted to get involved, or even if you already are involved, join us on March 11. We will review book sale procedures and organize our crew of volunteers as we look ahead to our busy summer season. Cookies and congenial company will be served!

Illustrated Talk: Voyages aboard the Atlantis II
Tuesday, March 14
3:00 PM

Craig Dickson, who served for thirty-four years on vessels of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, retiring as second mate, will be speaking at the Woods Hole Public Library about his time at sea. In this talk, Craig will feature several voyages aboard the Atlantis II during the 1980’s and 1990’s in the Atlantic, including the famous discovery of the Titanic, which he will be talking about as it relates to surface operations.

His own photographs will illustrate his talk, both of the sea and several beautiful island ports: Bermuda, Iceland, the Azores, and Madeira. On one of the most notable cruises (though not as famous as the Titanic discovery, but more important scientifically) they discovered the deep-sea vents south of the Azores.

Social Justice Book Group
Wednesday, March 15
7:00 PM
