What Is Happening At The Council On Aging In September

We have a busy month of September here at the the Arlington Council on Aging.  We are located in the Senior Space Arlington Community Center at 27 Maple Street on the Ground and First Floors.

Here are some of our happenings:

-September 11 Memorial Wall which memorializes the 209 individuals from Massachusetts who passed away on 9/11/01 will be on display the Main Hall from September 6 through 9.  Please join us for coffee with the artist, Gina Johnson, on Thursday September 8 at 9:00 am. Free.
- National Senior Center Luncheon and Jazz Concert on Thursday, September 29. MUST RSVP.  $3.00.
- Covid Memorial Rock Garden workshops on Monday, September12 and Tuesday, September 20. Free.
- Minuteman Senior Services Congregate Lunch will be served here at the Senior Space every Tuesday and Wednesday--call 781-221-7099 to reserve your lunch--$2.00 donation requested.
- International Film Screening from Munich, Germany on the topic of climate change.  Choose Thursday, September 15 or Monday, September 19. Free.
- Ping Pong Starts Tuesday, September 13 at 2:00 in the Main Hall. Free.
- Check out our Arlington 60+ Newsletter for all of our Fitness Classes--There is a class or more every weekday! $3.00 each.
- Also Shakespeare Group starts Thursday,  September 8 at 1:30 pm.  $3.00.
- Social Groups:  LGBTQ+ and Friends, Yarn & Yarn, Current Events, Veterans Coffee Hour, all are listed in the Newsletter.
- Support Groups for Low Vison, Dementia/Alzheimer's, Parkinson's Disease, Caregivers and DeCluttering all are listed in the Newsletter!
- Buy sheets of 10 Easy Tickets in our COA Office for $27.00  if you wish to make paying for classes, events and van rides easier.

Cards to scan into the Senior Space at the Community Center are free to all Arlington residents over the age of 60.  Stop by our office on the ground floor.  Call us at 781-316-3400 to RSVP for events or ask questions
