Truro Public Library Happenings - November 2022

From: Truro Public Library
November 7, 2022

Library folk, along with our friends from Truro Rec and Truro Central School Family Group, ended October in the best possible way-with an awesome Halloween party on Friday, October 28. We hosted over 100 kids and as many adults-all in wonderful costumes. We are still smiling from thinking about the several generations of Truro-ties having fun together, dancing under the disco ball to the sounds of DJ Stephanie Viva; enjoying great pizza from Red Barn, ghoulish sweets baked by the Friends of the Truro Library; a Photo Booth by My Cape Cod Photo Booth; pumpkin-decorating from Seaman’s Bank and Bayberry Gardens, along with many other crafting stations. See some of the photos in this week’s Provincetown Independent.

As we look toward the holiday season, we start to think about the future—which is exactly what our Board of Trustees is doing now and they would like your help to develop a new 5-year-plan. The Truro staff is always mindful about how we expend our portion of the Truro budget. While almost all libraries are supported financially by the local community, the most beloved libraries reflect the dreams, aspirations, and values of a community back to itself. We need YOU to tell us our next direction. Would you like more physical books and dvds, more e-books, more music events, more emphasis on kids, more parties (yes, please), more electronic databases, more tech instruction, more programs about social issues, more author talks, more educational programs, more cowbells? We need your input! Public libraries are supported by local taxpayers-you can help by filling out this survey: Library Strategic Planning Survey

This month the library will be closed at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, will remain closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. We will be open on Saturday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
