November 8th Election

The polls will be open from 7:00am to 8:00pm for the State Election. All precincts vote at the Winchester High School Gym. You can check the Town's voting website for results as we have them.

COVID-19 Booster Clinic

The Health Department is holding a COVID-19 Booster Clinic on Wednesday, November 16th, from 3:00 to 6:00pm at the Jenks Center. You must pre-register and schedule an appointment to attend this clinic. This clinic is open to the public ages 5+. Please click this link to make your appointment.

Fall Town Meeting

Fall Town Meeting starts Thursday, November 10th, 7:00pm at Winchester High School. You can find the Town Meeting Warrant, Motion Book, Committee Reports and more on the Town's website. https://www.winchester.us/241/Town-Meeting. Town Meeting will be broadcasted live on WinCam.

All Night Parking Ban
The Winchester Police Department will begin enforcing the Town’s all-night parking ban. Throughout the winter, vehicles parked on the street for more than one-hour between 1am and 7am are subject to being ticketed. During a snow emergency, vehicles left on the street may be ticketed or towed. The Police Department will be placing warnings on vehicles in violation of this ban in the next few weeks.

Transfer Station Leaf Drop-off

The Transfer Station will be open on the following Sundays from 12 – 4pm for leaf drop-off: November 13, 20, 27 and December 4.

Veterans Day Parade
The annual Veterans Day Parade will start at 10:15am from Winchester High School. You can find the full route on the Town's website. Civic exercises will follow the parade

Construction Projects

On-going Construction projects:

Eversource 345kV Project – Eversource is currently working on Cross Street and the contractor has begun the directional drill under the Aberjona River on Washington Street.

Eversource 115kV Project – Eversource is the process of repaving Woodside Road, Wildwood Street, Fletcher Street, and the intersection of Church, Bacon, and Fletcher Streets..

Main Street Bridge Railing Repairs –The contractor is continuing repairs on the north side of the bridge. The crack repair work is complete and they are waiting for the arrival of the new rails caps, which are expected next week.

Muraco School Roof Repairs – Roof repairs are currently on-going.

North Reservoir Dam – Construction is underway; work should be substantially complete in late December.

Transfer Station Renovation – Construction is underway, and we expect the majority of the work to be complete this year.

Manchester Field Turf Replacement – Replacement of the Manchester Field turf began on October 15th. The field will be out of service for the duration of construction, but the track will remain open.

Upcoming Construction projects:

Woodside Road and Wildwood Street – Unfortunately construction will be delayed to spring 2023 due to a lack of available curbing.

Mystic School Sports Court – Site work will start soon, with the intent of finishing the paving this fall. Final painting and markings will happen next spring.

DPW Fire Alarm – The contract for this project has been awarded.

Ageing Well in Age-Friendly Winchester: November 15, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
