Reflections on an Exciting October

Art shows have returned to the COA! Our first art show in two years featured Weston resident Herb Randel's portraits and landscapes from his 60-year career as a painter. The art continued with fan-favorite, Jane Blair's, art appreciation presentation on Pablo Picasso.

"I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed Jane Blair’s presentation about Picasso. I learned so much and have a far greater appreciation and understanding of Picasso’s work.

Jane’s programs - I have attended many -
are so accessible and informative, her energy,
enthusiasm, and knowledge is infectious."

Another crowd-pleaser, University of Maryland historian Richard Bell, presented on The American Revolution in Britain and will present at the COA on The Fire of Frederick Douglass Monday, November 28, 6-7:30.

Many joined us for our Halloween Harvest Luncheon and over 75 folks picked up apple cider donuts from us to celebrate the fall season. For those who missed out on the Life Transition Binder workshop because it filled to capacity quickly - don't worry, we'll offer it again in the spring!

We took two incredible walking tours this month: First, of Mount Auburn Cemetery for a private tour then Hidden Brookline, a walking tour of slavery & freedom. Our travel wasn't limited to Massachusetts, though, as we were treated to two private tours of St. Mark ‘s Square, with our witty and knowledgeable Italian guide, and of Berlin’s brilliant Festival of Lights.
