From: Town of Upton
October 13, 2022

Press Release - Request for Proposals is Available

The Town of Upton invites qualified individuals and firms to develop and manage a mixed-use development project of commercial, retail, and residential uses within a five-parcel area encompassing approximately 1.5 acres in Upton Center.

Located in the historic Upton Town Center in proximity to the Upton Town Hall, the soon to be completed Upton Community Center, the Town is seeking to revitalize the town center area as a focal point of the community and by adding commercial and residential uses. The Town adopted the Upton Center Business District Zone and a Shared Parking Bylaw to facilitate and guide the redevelopment of the Upton Town Center. In addition, the Mass DOT is proposing a Transportation Improvement Project that will improve vehicular and pedestrian circulation in the center with the construction of a new roundabout.

The redevelopment of the Upton Center, consisting of 4 Town-owned properties and one (1) privately owned property, is a unique opportunity to create a new village development centered around the historic Upton Center. Interested parties may obtain more information on the Town’s website at www.uptonma.gov/procurement.

For more information, please contact the Town Manager, Joseph Laydon at jlaydon@uptonma.gov or at (508) 529-6901.
