NOTIFICATION OF PROPOSED TISBURY PROPERTY VALUE

The Board of Assessors has conducted a comprehensive reassessment of all classes of properties in the Town of Tisbury for Fiscal Year 2023 (valued as of January 1, 2022) and submitted new values to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) for certification.  Certification is a process required by law every five years for all communities in Massachusetts using procedures mandated by the DOR (see MGL Ch. 40, Section 56, as amended). The proposed FY2023 assessed values will be made available on the town website (https://www.axisgis.com/TisburyMA/) and in the Assessors’ office at the Town Hall at 70 Main Street for taxpayers to review.  Taxpayers may come in or call the Assessors’ office during normal business hours at 508-696-4207 for information or questions regarding the proposed assessments.

Proposed values are pending preliminary certification from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
DOR procedures require a review and analysis of all property data, recent sales, current rents, and construction costs used to generate the community’s assessed values using an effective date of January 1, 2022.  The board has submitted the updated data to the DOR and has been granted pending preliminary approval for the new property values.

The dates and times for the review period will be posted on the town website.
