Town Of Stoneham News Stoneham Community Aggregation

The Stoneham Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA) program is still available to those residents looking to save money on their electricity bills this winter. Electricity users in Massachusetts have the option of selecting their supplier as an individual whereas the delivery of your electricity is predetermined based on your community. So, Stoneham residents have Eversource deliver their electricity but they are able to personally select who supplies their electricity.

Recently, WBRU wrote an article about the upcoming electricity hikes:

As a supplier, Eversource’s rates fluctuate every six months. Currently, Eversource basic supply rates are 0.25649/kWh. A couple of years ago, Stoneham went through a procurement process and locked in a rate of .10364/kWh through its Stoneham CEA program. This is an incredible differential in price. So, if a resident in a small apartment uses 500kWH a month in electricity.. their supply cost (which is HALF of your bill FYI) through Eversource basic will be $128.25 BUT if they’re enrolled in the Stoneham CEA program, their cost will $51.82 for supply for the same amount of electricity. And for those of you who live in National Grid territory (like me), the rates are even higher (I’m talking .33891/kWh!) And yes, if you have solar, you can still benefit from this program.

If you are a resident who is unsure if you are enrolled in Stoneham CEA, you can check by looking at your bill (either online or paper invoice) and checking the supplier line.. it will say Stoneham-Constellation (or some variation) on the supplier line if you are enrolled in the program. You may not have remembered ever enrolling in the program.. It’s an opt-out only program so youy may have automatically enrolled. However, sometimes users slip through the cracks and still end up on Eversource Basic.

Their is a dedicated site to this program: www.stonehamcea.com. You are able to compare pricing, learn more about the program, and even safely enroll through the website.

The Town does not receive any financial compensation for residents being in the program – it’s just a service we provide to offer predictable rates while protecting our residents from predatory companies.
