Laborer I - Department of Public Works

Stoneham Public Works Laborers Union AFSCME Council 93, AFL-CIO Grade 38
Salary Range; $26.7719 hrly/$55,899.94 annually-$31.0569 hrly/$64,847.02 annually

Duties include performing a wide range of manual tasks, under supervision, which require generalized training and experience involving the use of both hand tools, power tools and equipment. As well as other duties that may be assigned.

Motor Equipment Maintenance Man - Department of Public Works
Stoneham Public Works Laborers Union AFSCME Council 93, AFL-CIO Grade 40

Salary Range; $27.9217 hrly/$58,300.61 annually-$32.4236 hrly/$67,700.27 annually

Performs servicing and maintenance of all motor vehicles including minor repairs. Duties include performing a wide range of preventive maintenance operations, oil changes, coolant, tire and batteries. Performs regular maintenance to equipment and vehicles. Assists in repairs. Cleans and maintains shop, drives light and heavy trucks. Performs all duties of a laborer. As well as other duties that may be assigned.

Motor Equipment Repairman - Department of Public Works

Stoneham Public Works Laborers Union AFSCME Council 93, AFL-CIO Grade 44

Salary Range; $30.2452 hrly/$63,152.08 annually-$35.1853 hrly/$73,466.80 annually

Duties include but not limited to: performing preventive maintenance for all vehicles and mechanical equipment either personally, through outside vendor. Operates a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric and air driven tools. Tests, services and repairs vehicles and mechanical equipment. As well as other duties as required or assigned. Performs all duties of a laborer and Motor Equipment Maintenance man.

All positions require:

Valid Massachusetts Vehicle Operator’s License
Class B- C.D.L. with Air Brake endorsement, will accept CDL permit, but must be able to obtain CDL license within six months. (Grade/Salary to be adjusted accordingly)

Pre-employment Requirements

The prospective employee must successfully complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Records Inquiry), physical examination, including a drug screening. The Town reserves the right to run additional CORI and background checks as allowed under Massachusetts General Law.
