2023 Summer Camp Scholarships
SYFS welcomes qualifying residents to apply to this year’s summer camp scholarship program. It continues to be our goal to best serve the families within our community by providing financial support towards Southborough-based summer camps. Camp options for 2023 are outlined below:
Southborough Recreation
Southborough Recreation camp continues to offer full day and half day options, as well as CIT opportunities. Registration is on a first come first serve basis with registration opening March 6th to Southborough families. Once again, they will have a waitlist to pull from should a child cancel their spot. If you are interested in registering your child for this camp, please complete this application ASAP.
Southborough Extended Day Program (SEDP)
SEDP will be open for full day camp with weekly and daily registration options. This camp will run Monday through Thursday. Before and after camp care is available. Field trips are every Thursday.
Fay School Day Camp
Fay School Day Camp offers SYFS a limited number of free two-week sessions for camp scholarships. To make the distribution of these weeks fair and equitable, there will be a lottery-style selection should interest exceed available slots. Again, this selection is not guaranteed. Fay has asked us to reserve spots for children entering 3rd grade or older.
Like last year, scholarships will be offered on a reduced rate that is calculated based on family size and income. Camp fees may be discounted 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. Applicants will be asked to provide their 2021 federal tax return summary as well as any supporting documents showing receipt of any of the following public assistance programs:
SNAP benefits
Medicaid
Fuel assistance
SSDI or SSI
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, formerly known as AFDC, Aid to Families with Dependent Children)
