Outbreak of Extensively Drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa Associated with Artificial Tears
CDC has issued an advisory about infections from a drug resistant strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa associated with the use of artificial tears. CDC lab determined the presence of the outbreak strain in EzriCare artificial tear bottles. Patients and healthcare providers should immediately seize use of EzriCare artificial tears pending additional guidance from CDC and FDA.
