Town Of Shirley - Upcoming RAD Self-Defense Class

Chief Santiago is pleased to announce that the Shirley Police Department will be hosting a RAD self-defense class on Tuesday November 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 6-9pm which will be taught by our very own Certified RAD Instructor, Police Officer Brett Rand.
The RAD Program provides a four-week instruction for girls and women that want to learn to defend themselves in the event of an attack.
The RAD program covers the basics of stances, yelling, movement, blocking, striking and kicking. The RAD system is currently being taught at many colleges and universities. The growing, widespread acceptance of this system is primarily due to the ease, simplicity and effectiveness of tactics, research, and unique teaching methodology.
