Town Of Princeton : Seeking Volunteers - Flags on Memorial Day

From: Town Of Princeton
May 24, 2022

It has been the tradition in Town to follow with the US Flag Code Title 4 Chapter 1 to set the Town’s US flags to half-mast at sunrise (5:14am this year) until noon on Memorial Day in observance of those service members that have served, and passed, and also those that still serve.  In the past this has been done by a few volunteers but for a variety of reasons that involvement has limited and we are looking for new residents to aide with this tradition. .

The Town has nine flagpoles it maintains:

-Bagg Hall/Goodnow Library (requires a little training & key access)

-Veteran’s Memorial (lower Town common)

-Old Center School (18 Boylston Avenue)

-Sullivan Memorial (Krashes Fields, 110 E. Princeton Road)

-Meiselman Fire & Rescue Station, a.k.a PFD Station Two (11 Redemption Rock Trail North)

-Woodlawn Cemetery (Connor Lane)

-North Cemetery (Mirick Road)

-South Cemetery (Brooks Station Road & Ball Hill Road)

-West Cemetery (Wheeler Road near Bigelow Road)

If you can help with any of these on Memorial Day it would be appreciated.

The veterans graves in Town will be marked with flags and flowers with the assistance of the Princeton Scouts and Girl Scouts, as had been done for many years.

If you can help with the flagpoles please contact Nathan Boudreau, Princeton Town Clerk, at townclerk@town.princeton.ma.us or 978.464.2103.

THANK YOU!
