The Northborough Health Department is hosting new COVID-19 booster clinics and flu clinics this fall. See details below and register today to reserve your spot.
New COVID-19 BOOSTER CLINICS:
As of September 1, 2022, a new COVID-19 booster vaccine has been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These new COVID-19 booster vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer are updated versions of the original vaccines. Anyone age 12 or older who completed a primary COVID-19 vaccination series or received a booster dose at least two months ago should get the updated booster as soon as possible.
Location: Northborough Senior Center 119 Bearfoot Rd, Northborough
Eligibility: Individuals ages 12 and older who received primary series and last dose ≥ 2 months ago

Can I receive a flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine at the same time or within a week of one another?
Yes. You can get a COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccinations like a flu or shingles vaccine at the same time or close together, according to the CDC.
After having COVID, how long do I need to wait to get a booster?
You should get a COVID-19 vaccine even if you already had COVID-19. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine after you recover from COVID-19 infection provides added protection against COVID-19. You may consider delaying your vaccine by 3 months from when your symptoms started or, if you had no symptoms, when you received a positive test.
Can I mix and match COVID-19 vaccines?
Your booster does not need to be the same vaccine brand as your original COVID-19 vaccination, but does need to be age appropriate (currently Pfizer for ages 12 through 17 years, and either Pfizer or Moderna for ages 18 and older).

High-dose flu vaccines are only licensed for people 65 years and older and it is not recommended for people with a history of severe allergic reaction to the vaccine or to ingredients other than eggs.
