Littleton PD Reminds Residents of New Town-Wide 25 MPH Speed Limit
Chief Matthew Pinard and the Littleton Police Department wish to share that the Town of Littleton has implemented a town wide speed limit of 25 mph.

The change was adopted by the Select Board and is now in effect on all town roads, except where otherwise posted. Speed limits on state routes, including Interstate 495 and Routes 2, 110 and 119, will remain unchanged.

Littleton Police remind residents that the department will be strictly enforcing the new speed limit. Motorists who violate the limit are subject to fines and surcharge points on their automobile policy, which could raise their insurance rates.

"This change is meant to ensure our roads are safe and accessible for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike," Chief Pinard said.

Town Meeting voted unanimously in 2017 to authorize the change, and the Select Board ultimately approved it last December. Delays in the delivery of signage resulted in the later implementation of the limit.
