Good News & Some Clarifications

Greetings,

I am writing you with some good news and some clarifications. As you know, we closed yesterday for events. Thank you so much to all who offered us your help and support; it is truly heartwarming. Thanks to the First Church, who offered us space and many volunteers and friends and great staff. Special thanks to ‘Solutions Kate’ who helped work out a way so we can begin to ease back to ‘normal’ with our Wednesday dinner.

Today is an extra special dinner for a very special lady--our friend Rosalie Loasby. Today we celebrate her 95th birthday. She is a sharp lady, who is getting ‘all guissied up’ and coming to a delicious Pork Chop dinner. THANK YOU to the First Church for hosting us in the Fellowship Hall. We will dine a bit later, due to logistics but it will taste even better at 1:00pm--you will be hungry! Thank you to Sandee’s for preparing another delectable meal. This great meal is sold out. Make sure you sign up for the next one by Monday at 9:00am. On Wednesday, June 15, we try Chicken Lime Lettuce Wraps with spring slaw. Yum.

Today, I hope you stop by for cake. Cake and coffee are at 1:00pm, or just sign her card and say hi!

More positive news. Once again the First Church supports the community; this time they are adopting the popular thin film collection. It has been such a hit that we are diligently looking to support it here on the Town Green ‘campus’ too. With Kate’s help we will find a nice space with easy and convenient access. Make sure to admire the Trex benches you see around town and continue saving your thin film.

Many of you are wondering what is on and off this week. I am told our Open Mic held on the Terrace Thursday evening at 6:00pm is on! Ballroom Dancing in the gym is also on! No excuse not to work out--the Backstage Gym is also open! Mahjong is on in the Library, in the Trustees Room of our Thayer Library, Lower level. Bridge is on Thursday and Friday; you can enter at 12:30pm, wrapped by 4:00pm. It is lovely space!

Counseling and case management remains at the Center. So we are making progress! Stay tuned for more updates.

I hope to see you at 1:00pm today at the First Church--come sing your best Happy Birthday to our wonderful resident, Rosalie.
