Town of Harvard - Bare Hill Pond Beach Will Be Swim-At-Your-Own-Risk This Summer

Bare Hill Pond Beach will be SWIM-AT-YOUR-OWN-RISK this summer.

After more than 4 months of advertisement in 6 different marketplaces and on social media, we have not been able to hire a Water Front (Beach) Director. With no director there can be no lifeguards or swim lessons and we are forced to run the beach as "Swim at Your Own Risk" like we did during Covid. We will have ticker checkers to keep the crowds down and to maintain the bathrooms. We are making arrangements with Mirror Lake to take on all the Harvard kids who want to continue swimming lessons and they have agreed to hire staff from our pipeline to keep them certified and experienced for next year. Boat lessons are a possibility if we get enough staff and if the Mirror Lake Director can travel to Harvard in the afternoon. We are sorry for this inconvienence, but it's better than having no options for the kids. More details to come shortly.
