Town Of Hanover News : Fire Department Receives FEMA Assistance to Firefighter Grant September 12, 2022

From: Town Of Hanover
September 13, 2022

The Hanover Fire Department is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a total of $49,228 through the FEMA Assistance to Firefighter Grant. The funds from this grant will allow the Hanover Fire Department to purchase new fire hoses that will replace some of our aging hoses that were purchased in 1995.

Prior to this grant award, the funding to purchase this equipment was included in the Town of Hanover Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Plan. This grant will allow the department to purchase this new hose four years sooner, providing an immediate impact and removing nearly $50,000 from the Hanover taxpayer-funded operating budget.

Since 2016, Hanover Fire has applied for and received over $1.3 million in FEMA Assistance to Firefighter grants and nearly $3 million in total grant awards.

Thank you to Firefighter/Paramedic Tom Duggan for applying for and managing this grant.
