Town Manager's Report for May 2nd

A message from Chief Russ Stevens regarding Autism Awareness Month:

During the month of April, the Hamilton Police Department has been raising awareness and acceptance during National Autism Awareness Month. On the evening of Tuesday April 26, the Hamilton and Wenham Police Departments were honored to collaborate with Five Sons Pizza in an effort to raise money for our school district’s special education department.  We set a moderate goal of raising a few hundred dollars.  We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the generosity and commitment shown by the entire Hamilton and Wenham communities.  We are still in the process of finalizing the donations and food order receipts but are extremely excited to announce that we are close to $2,200.00 dollars raised for a great cause!

A heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU to all of the hard-working staff at Five Sons Pizza. They were thrilled with the overwhelming number of orders last night and they never quit in their efforts to complete each and every order. Our officers thoroughly enjoyed the personalized delivery service to our residents as they were all greeted with smiles and appreciation.

Although this was a team effort a special thanks goes out to Hamilton Detective Joe Achadinha for bringing Autism Awareness to the forefront and bringing us all together for this worthy cause.

Lastly, we would like to show our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of our local residents. This was another example of how the Hamilton and Wenham communities consistently support one another, local businesses, the school department and your law enforcement officers. We are very grateful to be a part of this incredible community.

Upcoming Events:

The next four Thursday nights at 5:30 pm - Sunset Music Series at the Patton Homestead  - food, drinks, fun! Weather permitting

Saturday May 14  ACORD Food Pantry Drive

This is the annual National Association of Letter Carriers' Food Drive. All donations in Hamilton and Wenham will benefit the ACORD food pantry. To donate, place a bag of non-perishable, non-expired food next to your mailbox by 8:30 am. Letter carriers will pick up donations and deliver them to ACORD! Thank you in advance for participating!

Reminder: the Department of Public Works would like to remind residents about the annual Outdoor Water Use By-Law. It does not allow automatic watering of lawns between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. from May 1 to September 30. The most wasteful act of water use is overwatering your lawn at night or watering during the day's heat.
