The Town of Great Barrington seeks a full-time Director of Library Services responsible for the operations of the Mason and Ramsdell Libraries. The Director reports to the Town Manager; advises and collaborates with a six-person elected Library Board of Trustees; oversees a staff of 7-full time and 6-part time employees, and manages a budget of over $500,000.
Candidates should have significant experience in the principles and practices of professional library operations, personnel administration, public relations, fundraising, budgeting, creative problem solving, and a demonstrated ability for leadership. A Master’s Degree in library science and five years of senior-level library management experience are preferred. A full job description is available here or as PDF.
