June 22, 2022

National Grid will be installing approximately 9,500 feet of new gas mains in Shore Street, Clipper Lane, Packet Lane, Surf Drive, Bywater Court, Stratford Road, and Fresh River Lane beginning early 2022. See the map below depicting the work area. The new mains will replace existing Aldyl-A plastic pipe, which is vulnerable to premature cracking, with durable modern high density polyethylene pipe. This is part of a National program to replace this older pipe material. Residents will remain connected to the old gas main until the new main is online and their service is connected to it. National Grid will be contacting users to coordinate disconnecting from the old main and connection to the new main; someone must be present for them to make the changeover more details will be provided by National Grid. Please do not call the Town about the connections, National Grid will contact you. Roads will remain open for travel and residents will have access to their property while the work is being performed. Construction will be limited to Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, excluding holidays. Traffic control measures will be utilized when necessary. Trenches will be temporarily paved at the end of every day and a final pavement for the whole project will be done once the job is complete. It is anticipated that this project will take several years to complete. We thank you for your patience.
