Wing Island Update: Special Town Meeting Tentatively Scheduled and Public Forum Postponed
At their January 23, 2023 meeting, the Select Board discussed a citizens petition filed on January 19 to call a Special Town Meeting on three (3) articles pertaining to Wing Island. The Town Clerk’s office has certified that the petition has been signed by the required number of Brewster voters. The Special Town Meeting to act on the petitioned articles is tentatively scheduled for March 6, 2023. The Select Board will formally vote on the Special Town Meeting date at an upcoming meeting.
The Town’s planned public forum to discuss access to Wing Island, scheduled for Thursday, January 26, has been postponed in order to provide residents with as much accurate and timely information as possible. The new date for the public forum will be announced shortly. At the January 23, 2023 Select Board meeting where these latest developments were discussed, Town Manager Peter Lombardi also shared out new and timely information about Wing Island access, originally planned to be provided at the forum.
