Open Position: Laborer - Recycling Center
The Town of Brewster seeks applications for the position of Laborer for the Recycling Center. The position performs semi-skilled manual work in supporting the operations of the Recycling Center and the Public Works Department. Duties include but are not limited to; monitoring incoming waste and recycling items, assessing items for proper disposal, and directing customers to the appropriate locations within the facility; loading and operating compactors; sorting recycling; serving as back up to Gatekeeper; participating in snow & ice operations. Operates a variety of equipment, hand tools and machinery. High School diploma or equivalent & 1 year experience in municipal solid waste or recycling center operations preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. This is a 40 hour a week Grade 2 SEIU union position with a starting pay rate of $23.02 - $25.15 per hour, and a work schedule of Thursday through Monday.
