Don't Forget to Register Your Dog
The law requires all dogs six months old or over to be licensed in Arlington annually as of January 1st. If your dog is not yet licensed, please be advised that you could be cited for a failure to license your dog. Please note that after March 16, 2023, there will be a late fee of $25.00 added to your regular annual dog license fee. Please submit a current rabies certificate if past the expiration date. For information on dog ownership in Arlington, please visit arlingtonma.gov/dogs.

Off-Leash Dog Regulations & Reminders
Please Clean Up After Your Dogs.

The Park and Recreation Commission would like to remind everyone that permitted off-leash hours must strictly follow the guidelines of the approved off-leash program. Learn about rules and regulations for where and when off-leash dog activity is allowed, plus a list of parks and fields at arlingtonma.gov/dogs

Improper Disposal of Pet Waste is a Public Health Issue
The waste produced by cats and dogs in the Charles River Watershed adds up to nearly 3 tons per day. Unless properly disposed of, the waste enters our water with no treatment. Scoop up and seal pet waste in a plastic bag. Dispose of properly, in the garbage. Learn more.

What to do Following a Dog Altercation
If your dog gets into an altercation with another dog or a person please treat this as if it was a car accident. Try your best to exchange names, addresses, and phone numbers and information about the dog. It is important to follow up on rabies certification.
