Jan. 12 MassDOT Safe Routes to School for Stratton, Jan. 13 CDBG Application Deadline, and New DPCD

Jan. 12 Safe Routes to School for Stratton Area 
Virtual design public hearing hosted by MassDOT. 

The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Stratton School Improvements (Safe Routes to School) project. This project will address improving safety, accessibility, and mobility. Register for this meeting

Jan. 13 Deadline Approaching: Community Development Block Grant Application  
The Town of Arlington’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Year 49 Application is now available. The Department of Planning and Community Development invites applications for projects including affordable housing, economic development, parks, public facilities, and infrastructure, and public services from eligible applicants. The funding period for this grant is July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024. Application and guidelines are available at www.arlingtonma.gov/cdbg

Beauregard Named Arlington’s New Economic Development Coordinator
D.J. Beauregard began his role on December 19, 2022. 
Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) Director Claire Ricker is pleased to announce the appointment of D.J. Beauregard as Arlington’s new Economic Development Coordinator. The Economic Development Coordinator helps recruit and retain businesses to increase the commercial and industrial tax base and works with multiple stakeholders to maintain economically vibrant business districts and support the arts community. Muszynski Named Arlington’s Community Development Block Grant Administrator
Mary Muszynski began her role on January 03, 2023.

Director of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) Director Claire Ricker is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Muszynski as Arlington’s newest Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administrator. The CDBG Administrator provides daily administration of federally funded CDBG program in a wide variety of areas, including preparation of application, writing strategic plans, and reports for submission to grantor agency.
