In this DPCD update, the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) Director, Claire Ricker invites residents to the MBTA Communities Visioning Session on March 9th and virtual forum on the proposed Specialized Stretch Energy Code on March 1st. She also announces how the ARPA Housing Stability Program has supported many Arlington families through mortgage and rental assistance, plus encourages the public to take the Annual Town survey. View the update

March 9 Multifamily Housing in Arlington: MBTA Communities Visioning Session  
Share your vision, priorities for where multifamily housing should be allowed by right under Section Document 3A.  
The Town and the MBTA Communities Working Group is leading a planning process with extensive community engagement to determine the details of Arlington's district(s). Join us at this virtual public meeting on March 9 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. to participate in a visioning process to understand community priorities and values regarding multifamily housing. The meeting will close with opportunities for questions, answers, and the ability for participants to share their thoughts and ideas. Add to your iCalendar.   

March 1 Virtual Public Forum on Specialized Stretch Energy Code  
The Town's Clean Energy Future Committee will host a public forum on a Warrant Article (number TBD) on Wednesday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m. The Article asks Town Meeting to consider opting into a State building code amendment requiring that new construction be consistent with achievement of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in MA by 2050. Learn more and register.    

ARPA Housing Stability Program Assists 230 Arlington Households 
The Arlington Housing Stability Program (AHSP), which is part of the Town of Arlington’s ARPA framework and was administered by DPCD, has assisted 230 Arlington households who applied and met the AHSP eligibility requirements. A total of $650,00.00 has been awarded to these eligible Arlington applicants to fund up to three months of housing assistance payments. Learn more at arlingtonma.gov/arpa.
