Sept. 24 DEI Update: Town's Equity Audit, New Hires, Farmer's Market Outreach, and more
In this DEI Update, Arlington’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director, Jillian Harvey discusses the Town’s Equity Audit efforts, Town employee workshops for racial equity training, new additions to
the DEI team, and invites residents to meet them at the Farmer’s Market on Oct. 5 and Oct. 12. She also reports that the Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Committee is looking for new members and extends an invite to the public to attend the Rainbow Commission’s Community Picnic. View the update

Ross Designated as Arlington’s First ADA Coordinator  

Tim Ross began his new role on September 6. 
This role works within the DEI department in Health & Human Services to collaborate with the Disability Commission and ensures accessible practices for the Town’s capital projects, events, programs, and policies. Read the full release

Marzilli Named New DEI Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator  

Teresa Marzilli started her position on June 13. 
This position works with the DEI Director and other partners across the town to design and implement comprehensive and inclusive community outreach and engagement strategies and opportunities that utilize innovative techniques with a focus on the inclusion of historically under-represented groups. LGBTQIA+Rainbow Community Picnic

The LGBTQIA+Rainbow Commission is hosting a Community Picnic on Saturday October 1st from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Robbins Farm Park, meeting point at the dog statue. Add to your iCalendar

MLK Observance Committee Seeks New Members 
Interested parties are invited to their annual meeting on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 on Zoom. 
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday (MLK) Observance Committee will be holding its Annual Meeting on Thursday September 29th at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Committee hosts the annual MLK Observance Celebration each January and is currently seeking new members.
