This Week at the Jones Library

We hope that you are safe and warm for this holiday weekend, and that the winter storm has not impacted your plans or travel.  We also hope you remembered to stock up at the library before the storm hit!  If not, never fear - we've got you covered.  You can download eBooks and audiobooks, stream movies and music, and much more with your Jones Library card. Check out our online resources here!

Holiday Closing

Sunday, December 25 and Monday, December 26

The Jones Library and branches will be closed on Saturday, December 24 through Monday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday.  (When the actual holiday falls on the weekend, the observed holiday is scheduled for a weekday.)  Regular library hours resume on Tuesday, December 27.

No library materials will be due on days we are closed. Please wait until we re-open to return your library materials. Library materials will not be checked in until we re-open after the holiday!

Drop In Craft

Tuesday, December 27 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm

Join us for a quick and creative winter craft for kids of all ages! Drop in any time between 2:00 and 3:00 pm to design a mouse house. We will also be watching some short mouse movies based on picture books. See you in the Woodbury Room!

Playful Engineers

Wednesday, December 28 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm

It's school vacation week and we are so excited for the return of Playful Engineers. Join local teaching artist Jay Mankita for a collaborative, hands-on STEAM learning experience! Through creating Rube Goldberg machines, participants will learn about basic forces and motion, simple machines, and problem-solving. This program is for children ages 9 - 11. To register, please email us.

This program is made possible by the Friends of the Jones Libraries.

Noon Year's Eve Storytime & Celebration

Saturday, December 31 from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Help the Jones Library ring in the New Year by counting down to... noon! We're excited to host Julie Stepanek for some ukulele songs as we say farewell to 2022 and welcome 2023. We'll also have crafts, stories, dance music, and more! This event is for kids of all ages and their caregivers.

This program is made possible by the Friends of the Jones Libraries.
