Award-winning pastel artist Gregory John Maichack will present “The Rose”, a pastel painting workshop for adults 18+ hosted by the Tolland Cultural Council on Thursday, September 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Public Safety Complex. This is a pastel painting workshop designed for both sheer beginners to advanced participants. Please call the Tolland Public Library at 413-258-4201 to pre register. Leave your name and number. You will receive a confirmation phone call.

In this new, fun, two-hour workshop, all produce their very own personalized and original pastel based on Georgia O’Keeffe’s rose. Maichack guides everyone in drawing, blending, and layering while entertaining with anecdotes on Georgia O’Keeffe’s flower painting and her life.. All materials are supplied (pastels, paper, blending material, etc.) and everyone will keep their 12 X 18 painting,

Maichack will bring his Georgia O’Keeffe rose pastel painting to the presentation to help give close up detail in pastel and supplement our creations, and which will unveil the process. All will be broken down into easy steps and methodically planned out to make it so easy.

Greg has been hosted by Tolland’s LCC for several years. It is always a pleasant evening. Space is limited so don’t wait to call.

This project is supported in part from a grant from the Tolland Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
