Summer Reading Kickoff Party
Thursday, June 23rd

Rising Grades 7-12 + Adults

Our Summer Reading Kickoff Party is going to be a blast and we need your help to make it happen! And your parents' help! We're looking for volunteers to help out with scooping ice cream, assisting with kids' crafts and games,  and collecting tickets for a magic show. Some of the volunteer spots are for adults and some are for teens, and there are multiple spots available between 1:30-4:30 pm. If you (and/or your parents) are interested sign up Here

Math Competition Prep Workshops
Tuesdays, June 21st-July 26th, 5:00-6:00 Pm And Saturdays, June 25th-July 30th, 11:00 Am-12:30 PM

Rising Grades 7-12

Get a head start on preparing for math competitions with an in-person six-week series of math workshops! This program will give a basic introduction into the mathematics dealt with in high school competitions such as the AMC and AIME not covered in the usual school curriculum. The topics will be chosen from number theory, geometry, algebra, or other related topics. The concepts will be explained during meetings and be accompanied with example problems to practice and review as a group (new topics on Tuesdays, reviews on Saturdays.)
This series of workshops is presented by Toyesh Jayaswal and Ronit Avadhuta, recent high school graduates who have taken part in the AMC and AIME and similar competitions.
For those going into grades 7-12. Registration required. Participants should please bring a notebook and pencil.

Adventure Walk
Monday, June 27th-Friday, July 29th
Lake Street Park

Grades 5-12

Take a walk at Lake Street Park and have an adventure! Play through a choose your own adventure story as you walk around and make choices until you reach a triumphant end… or realize you’ve made a big mistake. 
This summer’s adventure walks were created in collaboration with our Teen Advisory! Adventure Walk #1 will be available to play from June 27th to July 29th, and Adventure Walk #2 will be available to play from August 1st to August 26th. 
These adventures are best for grades 5-12. No registration necessary.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library with help from the Parks and Recreation Department.

We’ll be welcoming in Summer reading with this afternoon all-ages library party! Join us for the following fun:

- Local Author Showcase 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Lawn Games 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Children's Activities 2:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
- Teen Games 2:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
- Ice Cream from Uhlmans 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Magic with Scott Jameson 3:30 p.m.–4:20 p.m. (This program requires admittance tickets. Tickets will be available for the program the day before and up to the show, while supplies last.)

Walk And Talk Book Club
Thursday, June 30th, 9:30 Am

Grades 5-12

Try an unusual book club this summer! In the Walk and Talk Book Club we’ll enjoy gentle strolls on Shrewsbury’s walking trails while we chat about books. Which books will we talk about? Whatever you’re reading that week! The ideal book club for people who DO want a little fresh air and DON’T want to read an assigned book.
