Social Emotional Learning

The school year is well underway and most likely by now your child has shared with you stories of interactions during their day that have been positive, negative...or somewhere in between!

Relationship Skills are just one of the five core competencies of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). SEL standards are embedded in the curriculum frameworks for Massachusetts schools.

While these are not new topics in children's literature, we are definitely seeing an increase in books and series being published which purposefully promote SEL. Personal Space Camp, shown here, is one in a series of books written by Julia Cook that help your child learn both internal and external strategies for navigating life, both during the school day and beyond.
