Have you seen the Healing Library?

Last fall, we added shelves and health resources to the turret area near the Reference Desk, including 10 kits in the Healing Library. This series of kits, each with materials devoted to a specific topic, was designed by RPL librarians with guidance from the Reading Coalition for Prevention & Support, RESPOND, Inc, and from Reading Public Schools Behavioral Health team. The kits were created to help a person, group, or family navigate areas of trauma and personalize the healing process. Check them out to take home or browse in the library. For a complete list of topics and to place a hold follow the link below.

Debut author (and librarian) Chelsea Banning was very excited to publish her first book, "Of Crown and Legends". But then only 2 people showed up for the book signing. What followed next was a Twitter storm of support from some of the biggest names in publishing when Chelsea posted about the experience. In conversation with debut authors Laura Gao, Brian D. Kennedy, Jean Louise, and XiXi Tian, Chelsea will chat about the challenges and joys of getting your first book out in the world. More information about the authors is available on the Ashland Public Library's website. We're excited to partner with the Ashland Public Library and other Massachusetts public libraries for this exciting virtual program!

Please register at this link and you will receive Zoom information in the confirmation and reminder emails -- make sure to check your spam folder for them, the email will be coming from ashlandprograms@minlib.net.
