From: Town Of Millis
August 29, 2022

A sea of purple flags has been placed in front of the Veterans Memorial Building/Town Hall at 900 Main Street in order to raise awareness for International Overdose Awareness Day, August 31st. The display honors the victims of the ongoing opioid crisis. There are 2290 flags representing each life lost to overdose in Massachusetts in 2021.

The flags were provided by the SAFE Coalition, a local nonprofit organization. "SAFE is a judgement free community organization relentlessly committed to educating and supporting those affected by substance use disorder and mental health concerns across southeastern Massachusetts.
