Climate Change: What it Means for New England:
Thursday, September 8 at 7pm. Join Quentin Prideaux for a presentation on the basic science of climate change and its effect on New England.

Friday, September 9 at 11am. Get an introduction to our three most popular library eResources so you can start accessing books, music, movies, and more from home.

Poetry Reading and Open Mic:
Tuesday, September 13 at 7pm. This year’s Poetry Series will open with readings by Nidia Hernandez, Karen Klein and Jean Dany Joachim. An open mic will follow with a limit of one poem per person. Open mic signups are taken via the Zoom chat feature; limited slots are available.

Newton Art Association Awards Show Reception:

The Pedestrian Safety Crisis in America:
Thursday, September 15 at 7pm. Join us for a presentation by Angie Schmitt, author of Right of Way: Race, Class and the Silent Epidemic of Pedestrian Deaths in America and one of the most well-known writers on the topic of sustainable transportation in the U.S.

Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga:
Thursday, September 15 at 7:15pm. Experience ancient practices of breathing and meditation in an informal virtual setting. Discover secrets to increasing happiness in everyday life and learn ways to make it grow each day. No previous experience required. Sessions are led by mindfulness, yoga and meditation teacher, Janhavi Wadwhani.

Newton Art Association Annual Awards Show
View original works by Newton Art Association (NAA) members including drawing, painting and fiber arts. The show will be on view in the Gallery, Main Hall and Main Hall display cases.

NAA will award $900 in prizes to show participants. This year's awards judge will be Presley Ackeret, Gallery Assistant at the Beacon Gallery, Boston.
