The Write Stuff: Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30pm. Does your child like to write? Are they in second grade? Then this program is for them! This second grade writing program meets monthly. Each month we will learn about a different type of writing, including creative writing, non fiction, comics and small moments. Participants will learn to expand their thoughts and description as they grow as writers. They will have time to work and share each session. We look forward to working together and growing as writers. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month. Registration (required) begins Wednesday, August 31. When you register, you register for ALL 5 sessions: 9/14, 10/12, 11/9, 12/14 and 1/11. For more information, please email either lnorcross@minlib.net or rsimon@minlib.net.

Ozobots are back! We have six Ozobots available for in-library use only. Come to the desk in the children’s room to check out an Ozobot for all kinds of robotic fun.

Coming Up For Kids

Movers and Shakers: Wednesday, September 7 at 10:30am. Let's stretch! Let's move! Let's sing and dance! In this storytime we will read fun movement-based stories and then have lots of fun moving and dancing to some familiar rhymes and songs. Each class will begin with some light stretching, and end with a moment of mindfulness. For ages 2-4.

Draw Along: Tigers! Wednesday, September 7 at 4pm. Draw Along Creatures continues with a focus on tigers! After creating a drawing of this popular animal from simple shapes, the artist instructor will show you how to create scenes from just your imagination. Space is limited. Registration is only available for ages 7-10.

Wake Up Sunshine Storytime: Thursday, September 8 at 10:30am OR 11:15am. Join us for storytimes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Start your day with stories, songs and rhymes led by Newton Free Library children’s librarians. For children 0-4 and their caregivers.
