Parking Lot Construction Project Continues

The second phase of the City’s Library Parking Lot Project begins June 6th to address the storm water infrastructure, improve pedestrian access, repave/re-stripe the lot and install additional lighting.  Parking will remain available in the lot during the majority of this phase. Additional parking is available on Homer Street.

Crews will close sections of the lot while they work. Please use caution, as traffic patterns in the lot may be disrupted.  To avoid the construction all together, consider parking on Homer Street and use the Homer Street entrance.

Sit & Let Your Spirit Soar Pew at Library

We're partnering with Newton Community Pride as a site for the Sit & Let Your Spirit Soar public art initiative featuring the temporary outdoor installation of pews donated by Newtonville’s Boston Chinese Evangelical Church. Our pew, placed on the Homer Street lawn near the flag pole, will be painted by artist Kate Holloway outside on the Library grounds this weekend (June 4th and 5th).

Admire the art and enjoy reading and reflecting on the pew this season.
