New for September

Old Home Day

Look for the library's tent at Old Home Day on Saturday, September 10. We'll have some books and bookmarks to give away, and lots of information about our Library of Things, various programs and events, and our digital resources.

Tie Dye Programs

Featured Resource - Consumer Reports

Did you know that you can access full reviews and stories from Consumer Reports from home with your library card? All the information in the print editions is available online. You just need your library card number to log in if you're at home. It's easy to search by entering a term, such as refrigerator, in the search box at the top of the page. Give us a call at the Reference Desk if you need any help using this online tool!

Upcoming Adult Programs

DRACUT LIBRARY KNITTERS

Thursdays at 2:00pm

We meet in the Fireplace Room.

We're not just knitters! Join us whether you knit, crochet, or do another form of needlework.  All skill levels welcome. No need to register. Drop-ins Welcome.

ADULT TAKE HOME CRAFT KIT: FALL LEAF BOWL

An easy DIY autumn decor. Modge Podge can be messy but the outcome is this pretty fall bowl. We supply the leaves and a balloon, you supply the Modge Podge.

Instructions are included in your kit. Your craft kit will be available for pick up when you receive the email "Registration is confirmed for Adult Craft Kit."

Registration is limited to one per household.

REGISTRATION OPENS 9/6/22.

PARKER WRITERS GROUP

Wednesday, September 7 at 6:30pm

Join us for our adult writer's workshop! We will meet on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. This month, we will have a hybrid session – you can join us in person in the Fireplace Room or virtually on Zoom! Each session will consist of some conversation, followed by a period of reading and critiquing. We end the session with a 20 minute writing exercise. Members will be given an assignment to work on prior to the following meeting. Everyone is responsible for emailing their completed assignment to the whole group by 7:00 pm the Sunday before our meeting. Registration is required.

News for Teens

Keep an eye on our calendar and social media for more details on this month's take- and-make kit for Teens! You'll have the option to bring a kit home and create on your own, or join us in the library to make these together. Registration is required and supplies are limited. For grades 6 and up. 

Upcoming Children's Programs

CFCE Playgroup

Every FRIDAY in September, 9:00—10:00 AM

Come and join us for STEM-Group! Every week we will explore a new STEM topic for Early Learners. Our activities are focused on kids from ages 3-5, but everyone from age 0-8 years old is welcome to attend with their Caregiver.

The Family Resource Network is funded by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant (CFCE) from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

Registration is required and spots are limited.  Please register for each Friday that you plan to attend.

Drop-In: Library Card Lanyards

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 4:00—6:00 PM

Did you know September is National Library Card Sign Up Month? Celebrate with us by making a lanyard for your library card!

Please bring your library card with you to this event, or if you don't have one, sign up at the circulation desk in the lobby before the event! :)

Please register so we know how many lanyards to prepare, but this craft will NOT take the full two hours. Please feel free to arrive within the 4pm-6pm window whenever works best for you.
