Expect a Postcard in the Mail; Town Contractor is Replacing Home and Business Water Meters
The Town is replacing a majority of the water meters in Lexington. If you haven't already gotten one, you will get a postcard to schedule a date and time for your water meter replacement.
See what the postcard will look like.
The replacements are being done by Water Management Services (WMS), a company that the Town has contracted for this work. They will have identification when they come to your home or business.

Be a Part of the Process; Serve on a Town Committee
The Select Board and Town Manager are looking to fill vacancies on a number of Town committees.
Serving on a committee is a great way to:
- Meet your neighbors
- Get involved in the community
- Help make important decisions for Lexington
With so many committees to pick from, there is bound to be one that fits your interests! The community benefits from a diverse set of perspectives, so all are encouraged to apply.
Committees focus on topics ranging from trees, to tourism, to economic development, and much MUCH more!
The application deadline is Friday, June 3

Planning Board to Review Draft Comprehensive Plan; Community is Encouraged to Comment
This past week, the Planning Board began a detailed review of the further updated draft of the Town's Comprehensive Plan. The review will continue throughout the summer.
The Board's schedule is broken into sections related to the Plan's goals. The next session will be:

Public comments will be taken at each Planning Board meeting. Written comments may be submitted to Planning Director Abby McCabe.
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A Comprehensive Plan is:
- a basis for decision making for future development
- a process leading to a plan of action based on a town’s shared values and goals
- a set of priorities for addressing the full range of issues facing a town
This forum will feature and celebrate people with a variety of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) identities and their diverse intersections and experiences. Learn more about the diversity of the AAPI community and how to be more inclusive in our collective racial justice efforts. Two American Sign Language interpreters will interpret this event.

Pop-Up Space Coming to Lexington Center, Small Business Owners Encouraged to Apply
Calling all Lexington small business owners! 'Project: Pop-Up', a program that helps local businesses pop-up in vacant storefronts, is coming to Lexington.
'Project: Pop-Up' offers founders with fresh ideas access to premium space to experiment and expand their concepts. Applications are now open for interested brands to apply.

Memorial Day Ceremony to Feature Dedication of World War II Memorial Plaque
The Town Celebrations Committee invites all residents to gather at Cary Memorial Building on Monday, May 30 at 11:00 AM for an observation of Memorial Day.
George Gamota, Chair of the World War II Commemoration Committee, will dedicate a memorial plaque containing the names of 55 Lexington men who died in service in the war. The plaque will hang in the lobby of Cary Hall as a companion piece to the existing World War I plaque.
Veterans are invited to attend as honored guests and will be seated in the VIP seating area.
Due to construction in Lexington Center, there will be no parade this year, but wreath-laying ceremonies at the Town memorials will be shown on film at the ceremony.
COVID-19 Data; Masks Strongly Encouraged in Indoor Public Spaces
COVID cases are rising in Middlesex County. The Lexington Board of Health continues to recommend wearing masks in populated indoor spaces, consistent with CDC recommendations.
The Lexington Office of Public Health will update weekly COVID-19 case numbers each Friday. The data represented on the dashboard DOES NOT include at-home test results. The data only represents results of PCR and antigen tests verified through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
