Halloween fun at RPL starts 10/22

We've got some spooky seasonal fun for all ages!

We kick off with our Psychic Lunch on the Lawn next Saturday, October 22. Bring a chair and some snacks for an afternoon with psychic investigator and paranormal investigator Lucky Belcamino. Please be sure to register. Books for sale at this event (cash only).

Then on Wednesday October 27, we have two Halloween storytimes followed by a trick or treat parade through the library! Trick or Treat Storytime for ages up to 6 years at 1:30pm and Scary Stories, Treats, and Ghosts, Oh My! for ages 7+ at 4:00pm. Costumes are welcome!

Teens are invited to join One Night Ultimate Werewolf - for an afternoon of games, costume fun, pizza, and prizes!

Learn about Mystic Valley Elder Services 10/25

Do you know about Mystic Valley Elder Services? Their mission is to make it possible for older adults to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible and as safely as possible. They offer a variety of services for Older Adults and Caregivers too!  Please register here.

Assistive listening systems will be available in this library program. Please ask library staff members for more information.

Your houseplants can thrive! Join us on 11/7

Are you intimidated by plants? Do you love greenery, but think that a houseplant would be too difficult to care for? Join Michaela, the owner of Reading's very own Biss Botanicals, and learn just how easy adding some green into your life can be! Future events include Houseplants 102 and Plant Matchmaking - register below:

Have you seen RPL on Wheels?

The Reading Public Library is now mobile! The library has just received the much anticipated, custom-built book bike! Designed to open up and turn inside out, the bike serves as a mobile library outpost and it is ready to greet residents around town. Book bikes have the unique ability to bring library services outside of the building, meeting people where they are in an eye-catching, earth-friendly way. RPL On Wheels may pop up in neighborhoods, attend a community event, or connect with new people who may not use or can’t get to the library. More information is available here, including how you can suggest a stop or visit for the book bike.

Visit the Book Bike at Reading’s upcoming Downtown Trick or Treat on October 26 from 4:00-5:30pm.

This project was generously funded by the Reading Public Library Foundation.

Have you seen our online Community Resources?

The Reading Public Library's easy-to-navigate Community Resources page has Consumer Advocacy Information,  links to current event resources,  helpful small business tools including where to find a notary and much more.  Check it out today - on our website, available 24/7.
