DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Welcome to November! We have a busy month of events for all ages coming up at the Library, both in person and on Zoom, including: an amazing local panel discussion for the Friends of the Library's Annual Meeting; a Wine Glass Paint Night; Ask a Muslim Anything; Eyes on Owls; Henna Alchemy; and Choosing the College That's RIght for You.

We are also anticipating some disruption due to HVAC construction work - updates to the rooftop ventilation system may require periods where the 2nd and 3rd floors are inaccessible. Please give us a call if you would like to check on the building's current status before visiting, and thank you for your understanding.

MAINTENANCE WORK AT THE LIBRARY IN NOVEMBER
The Gleason Public Library is planning scheduled improvements to the HVAC ventilation system in upcoming weeks. The upper floors of the Library may be unavailable at times for patron safety during construction. The updated equipment will be more energy-efficient and use sensors to respond to fresh air ventilation needs in the building. Please check the Library’s website for information on current conditions daily.

LIBRARY CLOSINGS FOR NOVEMBER
The Gleason Library will be closed on Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The Library will be closing early on Wednesday, November 23 at 5 p.m. and remain closed through Friday, November 25 for Thanksgiving. We will reopen on Saturday, November 26 at 10 a.m. with our normal operating hours.

WHO'S WATCHING YOU? OWLS OF THE WORLD PRESENTED BY EYES ON OWLS
Thursday, November 10 | 3:30 p.m.
Who’s watching you? Find out with naturalists Marcia and Mark Wilson of Eyes On Owls, who will present a live owl program on our front lawn. All who attend are in for some fun with close-up views of these secretive birds of prey. The Wilsons will introduce the audience to owls found in New England, as well as other parts of the world.

This program is for all ages and will take place outside on the front lawn. Registration is encouraged. This event will be postponed if heavy rains/thunderstorms are predicted. The Library’s website and social media will be updated if we need to postpone due to inclement weather.

Eye's on Owls' Who's Watching You? Owls of the World program is supported by the Susan Zielinski Natural Science Fund.
