The Library is working to develop a new long range plan that will serve as a blueprint for service enhancements for the library for the next five years. A critical component of the process is gathering information and ideas from the Georgetown community to establish priorities and develop a focused direction. Please complete this survey by Friday, July 1.

Staff Shuffle!

You may have noticed our staff has made some changes in their roles here.  Ruth Shores has moved from head of Circulation to a general support role, Haley Hart is now our new head of Circulation, and filling her former Teen Librarian position, we're pleased to introduce our new Teen Librarian Kyle Coston!  Stop on by and say hi!

Summer Reading Programs
Friday, June 17 to Friday, August 12

Summer is here which means our summer reading programs will be starting soon! We offer summer reading programs to children, teens, and adults. More information can be found on our website closer to the start date.

Boston Harbor Islands Discount Ferry Passes

The Library now offers Boston Harbor Islands Ferry passes for the 2022 season. Passes are valid for the season between May 21 and June 16 (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays) and between June 17 and September 5, 7 days a week. More info and how to reserve here.

Take & Make Kits are Back!

This summer, Take & Make kits for adults and teens are back!  Check out our website regularly for coming attractions such as rock painting, field journaling, fiber and nature crafts.

Holiday Closure

The Library will be closed on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth. The Library will reopen to the public on Tuesday, June 21 at 10AM

Upcoming Events

Pack-a-Snack Story Time
Fridays at 10AM
June 3 - August 5

Join our Children's Librarians outside as they will read stories under a tree on the library lawn and then provide a fun outdoor activity! Bring a blanket and snack. If the weather does not cooperate the story time will be held inside the library. This program is for all ages.

Eat This, Not That!
Wednesday, June 8 at 7PM

Good nutrition can positively impact our immune system, health, well-being, productivity, performance, energy, mood, weight management, and prevent certain chronic diseases. Registered Dietician Nutritionist Jill Patterson leads this fun and interactive nutrition program, and teaches you how making simple tweaks in your foods lead to big results! Register online.

D&D: Character Creation and Mini Painting
Tuesday, June 21 at 1PM

Come hang out and paint a mini to get ready for the Summer Dungeons and Dragons Campaign.  The DM will be available to help you make your character for the summer game!

Landscaping and Gardening for Wildlife

Do you have a true green thumb? Meaning, are you taking into account the complete ecosystem around the land you care for? Learn how you can support local species by utilizing wildlife-friendly gardening practices in your home, business, and community settings. Register online.

Perennials are the workhorses of the garden with most coming back year after year. With a little know-how you can keep your garden in bloom for most of the season. Learn which perennials will work best in your gardens and discuss how to keep them in good form. Register online.
