Beautiful summer weather is here and we're gearing up for a full month of indoor and outdoor programming. The summer program for all ages begins at both South Hadley libraries on June 20th. This year's theme is Find Your Voice, and we hope that you will be inspired by it! Be sure to scroll through the list of special events as well as our on-going favorites below. Friends Of The Gaylord Library
Join us on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 5:30pm to support the Friends of the Gaylord Library and mingle in the historic library rotunda! Everyone over the age of 21 is cordially invited. Entry fee is $10. This event is open to the public.

Trustees and friends have been active this month weeding, planting, and getting our outdoor space looking great! Did you know that we run the home delivery service for the town of South Hadley?
Delivery is available to South Hadley residents who have health or transportation issues that keep them from the library on a temporary or on-going basis. Any item that can be checked out from the Gaylord Memorial Library or South Hadley Public Library can be delivered.

June Events For Adults And Teens
Not Just Knitters!
Fridays, June 2 & 16 at 3pm
Bring your crochet, needlepoint, felting, hand-quilting and, yes, knitting! Share your crafting know-how, browse a selection of crafty books full of new skills, or just enjoy stitching in the Gaylord rotunda! Ages 10+
Some weeks we'll have a theme like mending, finishing projects, or getting started on new ones. But all projects are welcome in all weeks. The theme is just to get us thinking.

Cameron performs his original material, as well as classic country and folk cover songs such as, The Times They Are A-Changin' (Bob Dylan), Where Have All The Flowers Gone (Pete Seeger), Heart Of Gold (Neil Young), and Angel From Montgomery (John Prine) as a solo acoustic act.
In 2017 as a solo act, Cameron released his debut Nashville recorded CD, Heartbreak Town. Since its release, the CD has been in rotation on the Jukebox at J.R.'s Café in East Windsor, CT, as well as several local folk radio stations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. In addition to this, Cameron has appeared on the Blue Plate Special live audience radio program in Knoxville TN, and has had the privilege of performing at The Big E (New England's largest agricultural fair) in 2018 and 2019. Cameron also has had the privilege to share the stage with many performing artists including national touring artist Drew Kelly, Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards, as well as Emily Ann Roberts Season 9 runner-up on The Voice. He has performed at multiple venues in 30 states and Washington DC, including Gaylord Memorial Library last summer!
Virtual Sit And Stitch With Timna TARR

Log in and spend an evening with your crafty neighbors. Bring your portable handwork of choice - quilting, crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch, etc. - and enjoy the company of fellow slow stitchers while you work on your project from the comfort of your own home.
Timna Tarr is a professional quilter and South Hadley resident whose work has been in numerous exhibits, books, and magazines.

Outdoor Yoga With Michele LYMAN
Serenity Yoga's Michele Lyman presents a series of four outdoor classes at the Gaylord.
Thursdays, June 22 & 29, July 13 & 20 from 4-5pm
All Levels Welcome
This class is a combination of sustained poses as well as poses flowing in a mindful progression with emphasis on core strength, flexibility and balance. This class is based on physical postures, deep breathing and mindfulness.

Author Tzivia Gover believes that everybody dreams and everybody has a story to tell. Come learn how to access your dreams and discover your inner poet or storyteller. Gover will offer examples of literary works inspired by dreams, read from her new book, Dreaming on the Page, and will offer tips and journaling prompts to help you boost creativity and find inspiration for writing stories, poems, memoirs, song lyrics, and more.
Gover is the author of seven books, and is a certified dreamwork professional living in Northampton, Mass. Her latest books are Dreaming on the Page: Tap into Your Midnight Mind to Supercharge Your Writing, in which she offers a unique approach to dreamwork and creativity, and How to Sleep Tight Through the Night (co-author Lesléa Newman), a guide to sleep and dreams for children and the adults who love them. MHC Art Exhibit And Circulating Art
Mount Holyoke College Studio Art Department and the Gaylord Memorial Library are pleased to present Paintings in Circulation, an exhibition showcasing artworks by spring 2023 Painting 1 taught by Associate Professor Lisa Iglesias. Joining the tradition of the book cover as subject matter, each student spent time observing and researching a tome of their choice at the Gaylord Memorial Library. The students then created renditions of the book covers in the form of acrylic paintings on stretched canvas, which are now available for checkout from any library in the CWMars network (a system made up of over 100 member libraries across MA) until September 2023.
Featuring artists: Madigan Breiding, Liza Brown, Vicky Chu, Madeleine Clement, Kaylee Demers, Sadie Duffrin, Freda Fu, Micah Heller, Mina Kocer-Bowman, Chloe McElveen, Vivian McPherson, Meadow Meredith, Liv Naaman, Anna Narin, Gianna Scott, Amelia Shang, Lynn Sleiman, Aj Treat, and Gita Yingling.
Paintings can be checked out for 3 weeks, or you can enjoy the exhibit here in the rotunda.

South Hadley Public Library is now a member of the Library Speakers Consortium, a group that produces 2-3 online best-selling author events each month. These are live events with interactive Q&A sessions where participants can ask questions directly to the author.
