Intro To Soccer With The LHS Girls Soccer Team!

Is your child interested in trying soccer, learning the basics or want to play in a non-competitive, fun environment? The Lexington High School Girls Varsity Soccer team will be leading stations and activities that introduce participants to the game of soccer with supervision from Josh Sideman, the Soccer Coach and LHS Adaptive Physical Education teacher. The program will meet on September 17th, September 24th and October 1st.

This program is inclusive and open to individuals of all ability levels.

Adaptive Tennis Lessons

Adaptive Tennis Lessons are available to children and teens who identify with having a disability and/or may require additional support and modifications to be successful within the program. The lessons are smaller class sizes and staff who have been trained to work with individuals of all abilities. All levels are welcome as the class will go over basic strokes while playing games, practicing skills, providing social interaction with others, and having fun!

Inclusion Support

These services are provided for individuals of all ages and abilities who may have a disability, medical condition or life challenge and would like to participate in Recreation programs / events. When requesting services, 1:1 staff are not guaranteed due to staff availability. Inclusion service requests are due by Friday, September 8th.

How To Request Inclusion Services

 - When registering for the program, check off "Yes" for needed inclusion support. Once you have registered, the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will send you an email.

 - If you have already completed registration and did not request support, Email Kate DeAngelis the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist directly. In the email please include your name, your child's name and the title of the program.

Once inclusion support is requested, you will be asked to complete an Intake Packet. This packet will provide the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with information on how to best plan for your child in the program. An individualized inclusion plan is created and relayed to program staff to help them support each participant.

Not sure which program is a right fit? Set up a meeting with the CTRS to get recommendations for programs!

Communication Board at the Center Recreation Playground

Guhan Yuvaraj is a member of Eagle Scout Troop #119B and completed his Eagle Scout project with Lexington Recreation and Community Programs. Guhan's project goal was to increase accessibility and inclusion and give back to his community. The board can be used by Individuals of all ability levels to communicate and engage while at the playground.

We are so thankful and proud of Guhan for his hard work planning, fundraising and installing this board - check it out next time you are visiting the Center Recreation Complex!

Join us for the 4th annual Harvest Fest! A sensory friendly, multi-generational, inclusive event - there will be something for everyone!

Sensory Friendly Haunted House Tours

The annual Haunted House will now have sensory friendly time slots available.
