From the Director:

Dear Library Friends and Followers,

As I watch the snow melt, I'm thinking about the Spring.
There are changes ahead for our little Library, but what never changes is the pleasure we get in making sure that our community gets the books, resources, and programming that we all need. We really love what we do here, and as I look through all of your letters of support and notes about our services, I'm glad to see that you do, too.

Many of you have asked how you can continue to support our efforts to increase our funding and make the move to a new building. One crucial step will be to continue being a presence at the various public meetings where the Library is discussed. We will be sharing some brief updates at the Public Speak time at tonight's City Council meeting, but if you are able, the next time that we'd love to have you join us is at next week's Finance Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 8, at 5:15pm, as the Committee debates a consequential funding proposal in which the Library is included. If meetings aren't your thing, don't worry--we have lots of other avenues of support and we'll be calling on everyone's skills!

Now for the fun part! What are we up to this month?

Easthampton Social Worker Liz Plouffe will be back for Office Hours on March 6th and 16th. On March 29th at 6:30pm, we'll have a virtual info session with the amazing Wildflower AllianceArt Buffet returns on March 21 at 2pm for Spring Flower Collages. Our Council on Aging book club is thriving, and we have the titles for the next few sessions available, if you're the planning in advance type!

In Youth Services, we are thrilled to announce our new Reading Buddy, Molly the Dog! Molly and her human friend will be joining us regularly to hear stories and look at pictures while our young patrons read. This event can get crowded, so be sure to sign up! Join us for Chess Club on Wednesdays at 4pm and for Baby and Toddler Storytme on Mondays at 10:30am.Emily is having fun getting to know everyone, and encourages you all to stop in, say 'Hi', and let her know what kind of books you and your kids love.

For our full lineup of March activities, check out our Calendar. We'll see you soon at the Library!
