Duxbury Free Library Newsletter - September 2022

September is library card month! Be a proud user of your library card. If you are returning to us from a long absence and need a new card, welcome back! We will issue you a new card or a replacement card for free anytime this month.

There's a new large, steel container at the playground side of the building that you might have noticed; it is a receptacle from Bay State Textiles. You can recycle so many things there - look at the link here to see what is accepted and how your used goods are either repurposed or recycled. Items must be bagged. The library gets a small proceed from what is donated.

This month we look forward to having our school kids back at the library after school. Parents please note - children need to be in 4th grade or above to walk over to the library without an adult. Kids in 3rd grade and under must be accompanied by an adult. And please send them with their library cards!

We are fortunate to have a wonderful partnership with the Duxbury Senior Center. In September we have a series of programs for our Community Read, The Violin Conspiracy. We kick off with a talk with the author, Brendan Slocumb, on September 7th. This has been a very hot book with many book clubs reading and discussing it in the past weeks. It will be a great discussion! See our calendar for more events in the weeks to follow.
